The same thing that comes from watching an episode of WWE.

telling Metropolitan Police Cmdr. Jason Bagshaw that he should be “put down like a dead dog”
Do people typically “put down” already dead animals or is he using the other form meaning “to insult?”

American companies only make up a small portion of the US auto industry.

We can no longer be content with moral victories
But that’s precisely all they’re talking about doing here:
coarser, insult-comedy-style attacks
How about some fucking action, Democrats? They think the whole issue is the facade of messaging and not the fact that they side with Republicans nine times out of ten while pretending they’re somehow different and deserve our vote because of that.

Obstruction isn’t just used when someone is interfering with someone else’s arrest. Ive seen countless bodycam videos where either one of these is used as a catch-all charge for the heinous crime of “contempt of cop” where some jackboot gets a bruised ego and slaps charges on someone to justify an illegal detainment or worse. They know most people don’t have the means to get competent representation in court and will take a plea deal at the overworked public defender’s suggestion which retroactively ‘justifies’ their crime and prevents any sort of blowback later since the victim plead guilty to something.

Arrested for “unlawful conduct” sounds like even more bullshit than being arrested for “resisting arrest.”

Dont forget about the whole slavery part.

Dont forget about squeezing the teet to get coconut milk.

My system would achieve the same, but easier. Because it’s easier to post or go to a different post than to go to a different community or create your own community. Also, with tags, you would avoid the problems with having multiple places to post the same topic. Also crossposting (when your post covers multiple topics) would be easier.
I don’t see how such a risk would necessarily arise. And if it did, because switching to a different conversation (and moderator) is so easy, you’d just do so.
What stops me from tagging something “Star Trek,” and then in the body of the post, pasting a link to some scam site selling dick pills, or creating dozens of bot accounts to do the same with every variation of tag? Nobody can stop me if I’m the only one who can moderate my posts.
You mention that its “easy to switch to another post” but fail to mention how that would work in practice. Currently, you can find a similar post inside a dedicated community easily, but without a community to sort post topics, how are posts displayed? Chronologically? By upvotes? By recent activity?
It sounds like you’re just describing a feed like Facebook or Twitter. The former being nearly impossible to find specific posts on. Instead, you either need Groups (same as communities) or to rely on the algorithm. Also imagine either of those sites without moderation.

I think ive been here almost 3 years now and saw another post about this earlier today (asking if there are mod tools to deal with this) and someone said it was “the biggest problem Lemmy faces today,” which I found quite odd as vote counts don’t even matter here.

Around here the chimneys are fine and the road around them has sunk so they stick up a couple inches above the road surface.

Not true alternatives and I don’t think this is that shortsighted for big truck manufacturers as the issue here is battery capacity and recharge time which won’t be addressed by building more EV trucks using current tech. All the components needed already exist outside of the batteries and once that tech develops further it should be relatively trivial to build these drivetrains. These companies are still building EV cars, which gives them the R&D needed for trucks too since they all use the same components just with different ratings.

How come some 25yo person is a director at Facebook?
This reminds me of my 25-year-old coworker who was laid off recently. I once had to take him to pickup a scuba suit from Enterprise after he’d forgotten it in the trunk, and about a month later, his bicycle from police impound after he’d chained it to some random businesses door one evening and forgot to come back and get it for several days. He’d also go out late every night and then regularly fall asleep at his desk.
He’s a great guy but I can’t imagine how someone that age becomes director of anything let alone one at a conpany with 75k employees and a market cap of $1.6T.

How would the public find out that this woman’s email inbox got deleted though?

Maybe they want to get this out there as cover if/when some regulator somewhere decides to subpoena records from the AI safety director.

The Jingle All the Way/28 Years Later crossover we never knew we needed.

I’d trade that for living next to the freeway any day of the week.

“Mission Accomplished”

This is full of half truths and outright falsification. Biden delayed a single shipment of weapons. “Official stances” mean nothing as the slaughter continued unabated. The aid flotilla cost $200 million to build and only delivered a few trucks worth of food before falling apart.
Do you really have that big of a hard-on for Biden and Harris that you’d help whitewash their participation in all this? Can you explain exactly what it is you get out of doing that?
Imagine if you used all that energy to help rid the party of these god awful human beings that wouldn’t think twice about doing the same thing to you if it helped their chances at get just a little bit more power. Instead you use that energy to craft a false reality in order to protect two proven losers and their ilk.
Note this only works if your CPU has on-board graphics like most Intel chips (non KF variant) or AMD’s G series processors.
