Did you know there’s a movie called The Fifth Musketeer? It stars the four classic musketeers, plus a guy who is at no point a musketeer.

This is a visual novel ABOUT normal people. I guarantee you the people who would play this are not what you’d call normal.

That’s one reading. Another reading is that vampires are bloodsucking foreigners using their exotic charms to tempt and corrupt innocent women into sinful acts. And if a foreign noble is a vampire, then it’s justified for
Americathe heroes to depose them. Plus, they found a novel way to weaponise Christianity.

12·10 months agoYes, it would have meaning, but less.
Jesus christ, you’re having more delusions than AI. Do you honestly think anyone would care about a picture of some text they agree with so much that the rug pull will affect them in any meaningful way? Do you think that guy hitting refresh on his prompt generator is putting in meaningful effort? Do you think anyone but AI chuds will excuse the blatantly obvious flaws the way you guys do?
Even at this second, I can’t even remember what the image looks like. It doesn’t mean anything to me. I just agree with the words.
I’m sure your little fiction brings you comfort, but it’s just fiction.

12·10 months agoIt’s proof, not that he made the toilet, but that they didn’t read the post they claim to have “definitely read.” We’re discussing the post.
And you might not pay attention, but I do. I checked your post history, where you claim AI is intelligent, and AI art is art, this is not the first AI thread you’ve defended AI in, and your most recent post (rather than comment) is on stable diffusion. You are very much pro-AI, and you’re being disingenuous by claiming you’re not.

32·10 months agoYes. It’s an added layer of meaning where he put in the effort, and still made a toilet. This is not a low-effort shitpost, even if it looks to be one from a basic perspective. And when you challenge the meaning of art, it says a lot that the effortmade is impossible to determine at a quick glance.
And I don’t know if it means a lot to people, or if it’s just a thing a lot of people agree with. And if it was made in a shitty ai slop generator, then it would change it from “defiant speach” to “I don’t agree with what I say, I just want you to like me.” And based on every piece of AI I have ever seen, even the stuff AI bros like to boast about, there would be a spelling error they didn’t notice.

33·10 months agoYup, definitely didn’t read the post. He submitted several urinals, and they do not match any urinals manufactured around the time of his submission. Add in his apparent skill with ceramics and, yes, he DID make those toilets.
Then again, if AI bros could pay close attention, they wouldn’t like AI images.

32·10 months agoActually, the post’s follow up images posit that he MADE those toilets, since no two are the same and they don’t match existing designs. Saying he put in as little effort as AI “artists” is misunderstanding his work.

3·1 year agoThe original Megamind would still be there. It’s like how you can still watch a good version of Snow White if you want.
In the Supergirl tv show, there’s a hero called Dreamer. Basically, the powers are passed down from mother to daughter, and while everyone accepts Dreamer as a girl, they’re surprised when she inherits the powers and not her sister.
Okay, but think about this: Groofy.
As soon as I typed that, I changed my mind. No longer defending groof.

21·1 year agoI understood you. It just sounds horrible. Sorry, no, it’s actually worse. Side stories are part of the story, so it goes without saying they should have the same designers as the rest of the story. If you think they don’t count, that’s worrying.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•What do you think of procedurally generated dungeons?English
61·1 year agoThat sounds horrible, personally. The world, story and characters should all reflect one another, so they should all be designed by the same people. Using AI to cheap out on the story is how you get rubbish stories.

Curated Tumblr@sh.itjust.works•on AI art, copyright and theftEnglish
33·1 year agoNo, it is theft. They use an artist’s work to make an image they would otherwise pay the artist to make (a worse version, but still). And given how I’ve seen an image with a deformed patreon logo in the corner, they didn’t pay what they should have for the images. They stole a commission.
And it is copyright violation. There have been successful lawsuits over much less than a direct image of RDJ in the iron man suit with the infinity stones on his hand. And if they won’t pay an artist’s rates, there’s no way they’d pay whatever Disney would charge them
Yes, there’s a lot of problems with AI. And yes, AI is a part of larger issues. That doesn’t mean theft isn’t also an issue with AI.
AI is a nazi-built, kitten blood-powered puppy kicking machine built from stolen ambulance parts. Even if stealing those ambulance parts is a lesser sin than killing those kittens, it’s still a problem that needs to be fixed. Of course, AI will never be good, so we need to get rid of the whole damn thing.

Curated Tumblr@sh.itjust.works•on AI art, copyright and theftEnglish
345·1 year agoAI images try to replicate the style of popular artists by using their work, often including work that was behind a paywall and taken without payment, thus denying the artists revenue. AI has taken something from the artist, and cost the artist money. Until such a time as we come up with a new word for this new crime, we’ll call it by the closest equivalent: theft.
Also, someone did an experiment and typed “movie screenshot” into an AI and it came back with a nearly identical image from Endgame. Not transformative enough to be anything but copyright infringement.
It has been a while since I’ve seen the movie, so I looked it up to make sure. Her power is to borrow other people’s powers through physical contact. Essentially, if contact is short and he can regain his power fast enough (which he does), he’s fine. Those few seconds his regeneration helps with are all he needs.
Her touch isn’t instant death, but it’s fast enough that it makes no difference to most people. His regeneration can keep up, but barely. And at the end of the first movie, he does touch her.

Au contraire! There is only a single isle of Monte Cristo in that book, and it’s over a thousand pages long, which means it took THAT LONG to count to 1.
