I’d say that the show Gotham is primarily about Jim Gordon and an adolescent Bruce Wayne dealing with all of the supervillains in Gotham City, but, drama queens that they all are, the show is a lot about them too

It was not

About 100+ years ago, drugstores/pharmacies were referred to as the “Druggist“. In Europe, the term “Chemist” was more popular. I would imagine that would be the etymological origin of the term.

Because, to Republicans, if you commit crime, you are therefore a bad person, and deserve punishment. There’s no logic to it, it’s that bad people deserve bad things to happen to them. It’s not about rehabilitating anyone, nor do they care to do that.

Only bad people would commit crime, and bad people deserve pain, cruelty, and nothing else ever. Since they’re not dead and can’t burn in hell, it becomes the duty of the state to make sure they live a version of hell until they die.

That’s their philosophy. It’s a big part of what makes them horrible terrible evil people. And what does it come from? Their vile, disgusting religion.

“But doesn’t their religion preach forgiveness and redemption?“ You might ask. Yes, but only for them and their friends. Because their religion also teaches hypocrisy.

I remember that when I was getting this “lesson“, my first question was “what about medication’s?“ And my teacher replied with “those aren’t drugs“

And I replied “then why do they call it the drugstore?” then my teacher sent me to the principal’s office for being “smart“. I didn’t understand what was wrong with being “smart“.

Technically, it was founded on the principles of liberty and equality for all. Just not the practices of liberty and equality for all. it was an aspiration, a goal of our forefathers.

But the way they teach it in school is pretty deceptive— as if it was all accomplished magically on that day in 1776, when, even today, it’s a constant struggle— a goal that we’re much closer to, but still remains elusive. that’s the part they don’t teach.

That’s what he said right before he asked him if he thought it was embarrassing, not being able to answer. Called him right the fuck out, all nice and calm. Asshole‘s face was priceless.

Decided to upgrade my laptop last October instead of waiting for a newer model to come out around now. The price has eye-poppingly doubled, but the updated specs are not all that more impressive. I’m really glad I upgraded when I did.
