  • it’s in context of the first comment i made, which is at the top of this particular chain of replies. but i’ll reiterate: the idea of autonomous bogies is fundamentally tone-deaf to how rail works, it solves no problem and creates lots of new ones. they are not useful in rail yards since they can not be used as shunters nor in any way help to build cossists, they are not useful for last-mile because the sidings don’t exist and they’re not useful for the first 99 miles because their range is abysmal.

also they can only take containers, require new infrastructure for charging, and take up slots that could be used by full trains.

…are you okay? automatically assuming the worst possible meaning of ambiguous statements doesn’t seem healthy.

what about this: “pointing the klansmen out to people back then was harder because the average person was more racist.”

  • The European Open Source AI Index was critical of Proton describing Lumo as “open source”, calling Lumo “the least open ‘open’ AI assistant” and stating that Proton had “open-sourced neither the Lumo system prompt nor the mysterious routing methods that decide which model will handle [the user’s] query”. The index wrote that “the only open source code we have found is for the Lumo mobile and web apps. Proton calling the Lumo AI assistant open source based on that is a bit like Microsoft calling Windows open source just because there’s a github repository for Windows Terminal”.
