Many conspiracies are real, people just spend too much time on the unrealistic ones (probably partly because people in power are deliberately pushing those to distract from the realistic ones). People like Murdoch already rather obviously act in the interest of rich nepo babies, a direct involvement of the US government is just the cherry on top.

TBH I doubt that the AI bubble is going to burst that soon. If at all - the Bitcoin bubble still hasn’t burst, and it’s been going for longer.

Some of the gulf states are basically microstates, hardly surprising that they’re focusing on highrises and skyscrapers. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy, reason doesn’t necessarily explain what they’re doing (see The Line).

I often upvote a couple of posts before I identify a poster as a spammer and block them. Even if the quality of their posts is fine when considered without context, comment sections and actual original content are much more important than reposted memes and spamposting stifles those.

Definitely not. It’s one thing if the posters add context where necessary and are active in the comments (e.g. PugJesus on history memes), but there are tons of accounts that don’t interact with the comments at all and just spam posts. I think in a lot of communities, they actually crowd out the posters with OC or that would at least stay around to talk about their post.

Also, a lot of these accounts are clearly using some kind of automation for their posts, but can’t be arsed to space out their posts over time so it’s not just 10 of their posts one after the other on All.

I assume that leaderships don’t want to put in the work, because that would cost money and talented developers get uppity when you can’t/won’t threaten them with immediate replacement with LLMs and inexperienced, low-paid devs. And nevermind getting on Larian’s level, most big publishers seem to prefer remakes over originals.

Yes. From everything I’ve heard and seen, it doesn’t look like they’re going to be making another isometric CRPG anytime soon. It’s a pretty niche genre anyway, even Larian’s success with Baldur’s Gate 3 doesn’t change that.

Pillars of Eternity 3, in the style of PoE 1+2 (i.e. isometric perspective and party-based combat). The original developer was bought out by Microsoft and now makes games that are more in line with The Elder Scrolls.

I do think it’s fun, but I’m definitely not interested in implementing byzantine complexity. When I have something I want to selfhost I pick a solution that’s reasonably easy and works reasonably well, and then enjoy that it’s working.

I felt rather disconnected from youth/young adult fashion when those brokkoli hairdos became widespread. I wasn’t ever particularly interested in fashion anyway, but those look like complete ass to me.

Also, Skyrim release was 15 years ago and they keep reminding you of their old-ass game by rereleasing it instead of a successor (I doubt it would be any good, anyway).

I don’t think most people would use a smartphone at all if it was that big.
