Jesus must’ve been so wasted all the time.

Could very well be, but it’s not used in informal language, everyone says email. Maybe in government letters or so. The Canadians do though, as well as arrêt instead of stop signs, fin de semaine instead of weekend, etc.
I can’t tell if I genuinely agree or if it’s the nostalgia goggles doing the thinking.

You’re thinking of Québec, they’re the ones with the strict translation policy which leads them to use direct expressions borrowed from English which sound weird to the French, they are much more used to just integrating the English word.
Except it’s the individual countries of the alliance that participate in the world cup, England, Scotland, etc.
That was me two days ago. Spoiler: nothing is fixed and now I’m even more late…

In France it is required by law that any café/restaurant provide you with free water when you ask. They don’t have to allow you to sit down and occupy a table if you’re not purchasing anything but they have to give you water.

Didn’t even have to type it out you took care of it already.

Wait, did the bus driver take off without getting his money or not?

Yes, they do, but in their mind Paris IS France, so yeah.
IMO degrees are overrated for all but people like doctors etc. Learning on the job always worked fine for me and at one point I was managing a division of over 40 people. These days I went back to my more “passion” career as freelance and couldn’t be happier. I plan on finishing my days as a woodworker (because we all know I ain’t getting retirement).

It’s not, and the same rules apply to those.

I work in the field, in Europe, and can confirm this is about right. There are also situations where you start needing permits to film, either because it’s private property or even public property if you start having to put down a lot of equipment and crew.

Same, trying to ride that line between becoming a brain dead AI-zombie and a luddite…
The side of the road thing is just the right amount of petty lmao.
There’s always weed in the weed box.
I agree when it comes to pirate websites and other shady stuff but I think those guys are a “legitimate” business, even if disgusting, and if France bans them from operating on the territory and they knowingly enable french people to use the site, could still be trouble. I have no idea how they function but I’d be surprised if they don’t even make you ID yourself on there similar to a trading app?..
