Well, for a touch of perspective, were you alive in the year of our Mario 1985?

I was alive in the year of our Mario 1985 and I didn’t get the meme, so don’t feel bad

Is there a further version that explains what these pictures are? I’m assuming the left one is a band and probably one I’ve heard, but I’m otherwise confused.

Left: Eagles (band) in place of the Eagles (team)

Right: Chief Carl Winslow (Family Matters) and Met Chief Inpector(Hot Fuzz) in place of Chiefs(team)

So, to summarise for those of us who don’t follow American Football, two teams are doing a sports against each other?

Thanks for this thrilling insight into the sport.

Yes, it apparently involves a ball. And massive cash payments to the referees.

It’s not an actual ball though. Nor is it usually operated with a foot, with a few isolated exceptions per game.

Turns out we’ve been calling it the wrong thing all along!

I saw Carl Winslow and first thought Chicago Bears. My second thought was Al and Nakatomi Plaza in LA. “Chiefs” never occurred to me.
