“At Israel’s insistence…the Oslo accords carefully avoided any mention of the ultimate destination of this process”
"The Israeli leader of the time, Yitzhak Rabin, told the Israeli parliament that his vision was not of a state but of “an entity which is less than a state”
Rabin was assassinated. Netanyahu replaced him “on a mandate to stop the Oslo process in its tracks”
And now Tony Blair may be appointed as governor of Gaza.

Now several Western countries recognise a Palestinian state, because “such recognition is now relatively cost-free”. According to Starmer, it’s not a sovereign state, much less than that:
• Elections in Palestine will need Israel’s permission
• School curriculum approved by Israel
• The PA will not compensate people Israel calls relatives of Hamas, no compensations to anybody

Israelis keep annexing territory, so that there will be no Palestine state anyway. And no accountability for Israel.
For Starmer “Recognition is a giant deflection exercise, an image-laundering operation”

It’s high time we admit the simple truth: two states were never intended. The intent was always to dispossess the existing inhabitants.
In creating Israel, the world committed a crime against humanity. If there’s a path to lasting peace, then that path begins with dismantling the Zionist ethno-colony.
Israel was imposed on Palestine. Peace must be imposed on Israel.
Imprison the culpable (maybe put them to work remedying some of the harm that they’ve done). Let those who are willing to live together AS EQUALS work the rest out between themselves.

Ali Abunimah:
They’ve recognized a concentration camp, not a state.
