      Do they, really?

Remember how noone says “it was just Hitler and his thugs”, no, the world correctly identifies deeply rooted problems within the German mindset and German society of the time as major contributing factors to what ultimately led to the catastrophe we know as WWII and the Holocaust. Militarism, blind obedience before orders and oaths, blaming others.

Even today, Germans are very often confronted with their Nazi past, usually by Americans who think their sense of humor is superior when they crack a dumb Nazi joke (I would like to get a Euro every time I read “I did nazi this coming” on the internet).

No, people do NOT forget. And they don’t care who you are - a perpetrator or someone who was opposed to what happened and apologized for their country. They don’t even care if you knew.

“I didn’t vote for this” is fast becoming the new “I didn’t know anything about it”.

I’m German, so take it from me - sorry, Americans, I wish it was different, but the world will not distinguish what you think about what happened, they will only see an American. People are simple and will always blame the collective.

My granddad was shot by the Wehrmacht for defection, but the world will always just see the Nazi soldier.

And we also see your fighter jet flyovers at the super bowl, the glorification of your military, the gun cult, the lack of social laws and how every single person in America has to fend for themselves. This lack of empathy is a deeply rooted problem in the American mindset and I view it as a contributing factor that enabled Trump.

That’s because its something that is taught to every generation on purpose in pretty much every school system around the world. Most stuff is not something you learn in school, while it is alot.

No, what they keep remembering is what the various power groups in the area and outside wants them to remember.

Same reason why Americans believe USA have some kind of supreme mega army, while in reality its quite bad. Sweden could sink most of the naval forces and scrap the jets. 1 gripen can down 14 or more per battle(prooven in multiple nato trainings. Kinda goes against the propaganda).

Moat people have no own beliefs. There are 3 types of people. The ones on the bandwagon, the ones hating the bandwagon as they personally has been wronged thus gained a reason to whitstand and the pupeteers who has great use of the bandwagon members, but not so much the second group.

I understand what you are getting at, but well, its been proven wrong countless times. Ask hitler, he was very much right in that aspect.

Tell a lie many times, and people will start believing in it.

When I say “countries remember”, I mean the people who take decisions in the name of the country remember. I should have been clearer.

The general population always forgets, yes. That’s why the world is once again falling for fascism.

                Yes, thats clearer, thanks.

One should instead ask himself why they do not forget, well, simply because its somwthing that can be used as a leverage when creating scenarios to enrichen themselves.

Do not limit yourself to one type of ideology, fascism is one that killed and continue to kill many, but most have died due to many other ideologies, were communism is a popular one when it comes to off your own population.

Well, we’re not falling for communism, so my focus is on fascism at the moment.

Although arguably the communism you’re thinking about was/is fascism in disguise, not communism. Communism hasn’t really been tried yet - or tried and turned fascist. It’s pretty much a utopic idea at this point.

Thats true, and same stretches to most ideologies.

There are to my knowledge 11 main branches or more key ideologies, which branch out to no less than 100 sub ideologies if you may.

Why so? Probably because theres only so much we can make up, it will eventually spill over and mix into a new main brach which in turn will spew out bunch of new sub ideolohies.

Japan forgot they were in war with a country. There are probably more examples.
