How comically absurd is it that here in good ol’ US of A, you can advocate for genocide into a megaphone in public. Yet if you punch that person for advocating for systematic murder, you are the one who gets arrested and charged.

      Seems like a gross overestimate

Nevertheless, the footage shows a fairly large and well organized demonstration. There’s clearly a lot of money being funnelled into this regime change op.

I am not surprised that the people who hate the government of their former country are in Western countries that support the rebellion. It should be onbvious that Western politicians smuggle fake refugees into their country so that they can use the political activism of those fake refugees to spread false information and gain support to replace accountable lawful democratic governments with corrupted governments in other countries.

Toronto police originally estimated more than 200,000 people would gather at the solidarity rally, which is marching down Yonge Street Saturday.

In a statement to CBC Toronto Saturday evening, Toronto police said the Global Day of Action Rally in Toronto saw crowds estimated at 350,000.

Toronto police spokesperson Viktor Sarudi said the estimate of 200,000 people came in part from discussions with organizers.

I don’t trust the cops on the numbers. Especially since the original estimate “came in part from discussions with organizers”, and given what kind of “protest” this is, that probably means the cops were part of organizing it, not just tapped for approval.

Comparing those images and videos to the Sydney anti-genocide rally I highly doubt 350K people are there.

The street is around 20m wide and it looks like the protest is covering about 4 or 5 blocks (1000-1250m) and the people aren’t packed together so its probably less than 1 person per square meter.

Also I feel like Tarot cards are so much more interesting in fiction then they are irl. I was considering buying a pack and then kinda just sat there thinking “what the hell am I going to do with these?”

Tbh it feels kinda oversaturated in fiction, or maybe just an easy way to do symbolism without investing time and effort.

“Oh we need a way to represent change”

“Ope here’s the death tarot card”.

“We need a way to represent the start of the adventure”

“Here’s the fool tarot card.” Etc. Etc.

It’s kinda cheap since tarot cards in fiction inherently work via the chekovs gun and similar rules

I used to read tarot for people when I was a homeless wanderer. Tarot are way cooler than you think. They are a mentalist trick like cold reading but they have beneficial uses. The purpose isn’t to blow peoples minds by tricking them into thinking you know things you shouldn’t know (though it might seem that way) the purpose is to provide a new perspective for people think through their issues. They are a tool for single issue therapy sessions, A Dear Abby column where you don’t have to expose yourself to anyone to get personal advice.

They get people to reconsider the inputs and outputs of their current situation some of them being glaringly obvious and others being obscure things they hadn’t considered. Then they spell out a potential resolution of the situation based on those inputs.

If you spend lots of time around groups of people who are also wasting time they are a great way to pick up some pocket change or just make conversations with people.

more indepth explanation of the mechanics

Each card represents an archetype, a state of being, a mood or a type of transition and have keywords or phrases to express their meaning that everyone can identify with. The position of the card in the spread is where in the person being read’s life that archetype or situation is. (so in a 3 card spread its past on the left present in the center and future to the right) Most of the cards tell a little story of their own in order to highlight what ideas they represent. (like the 3 of wands is a guy on a hill watching some boats, The boats are his and they are carrying his work off to another port and when they return he will get paid, and it symbolizes waiting for the results of your actions.)

A person asks a question which sets their brain up to focus on the part of their life that the cards will relate to. (I don’t like them to say it out loud.) The more specifically worded the question the more focused the person is on the situation and more direct the cards can address it. (things like Will I get that job/promotion? How can I move my romantic interest to a romantic partnership? how can I help that that rad lib become a comrade?)

The reader then begins laying out cards, first explaining the meaning of the position, placing the card and explaining the meaning of the card.

The cards cast a bit of a wide net so the person reading the cards needs to pick up on which aspect of the card connects with the questioner. Depending on what the question was the questioner’s mind will relate the description of the card to a specific person or situation and they will exhibit a subtle indication that this has happened. This is usually done subconsciously on the part of both the reader and the questioner which is why it seems like magic.

When all the cards are out the reader then reads out the whole spread saying only the parts of the cards meaning that the questioner reacted to. They tell a generic outline of a story and the questioner fills in all the details in their mind. The cards point the questioner at details that have contributed to their situation that they may not have considered or reaffirm their suspicions about their involvement.

So the meaning of the cards is really interpreted by the questioner. The reader is just facilitating a reexamination of the questioners situation with new context.

Its like the reader explains a synopses of a movie that they haven’t seen but the questioner has seen. Some of the details the reader says are things that the questioner didn’t really notice and suddenly they come into glaring focus and allow them to get a deeper understanding of the story. The reader also read a synopses of a potential sequel and the questioner is left to decide how to make the sequel better than suggested.

Side note: The reader and the questioner not knowing each other leads to the best results because the reader’s job is not to think, it is just to read the cards and the questioners reactions to the cards. That way the reader acts as a catalyst for the questioner to talk to themselves. The less information the reader has the less personal conjecture they can accidentally slip in.

I just realized where the drive for suburbanites to wash their cars comes from. They know they should be spraying something with a hose but instead of watering their tomatoes they are spraying their car.

The ‘probably quit this week’ turned into overdrive as I decided to rip the band aid right off and turn my resignation in today. It’s done. Few weeks left at this place and then it is… nothing? No idea what I’m gonna do but I believe in myself.

Lemmygrad Continues to Show Resilience in the Face of Extraordinary Challenges

    11.02.2026

Starting from the 9th of February 2026, many users have reported that images on Lemmygrad have not been functioning as expected. A large amount of older images in posts, comments, and profile pictures have become unavailable across Lemmygrad communities.

This issue was not caused by any failure of Lemmygrad’s infrastructure, rather due to an unexpected and untimely disruption to one of Lemmygrad’s primary logistical partners.

Since its founding, Lemmygrad has had to overcome many unique challenges not faced by projects less hostile to capital. A lot of diligence went into finding reliable hosting partners, a task made considerably more difficult given the project’s orientation. On Lemmy, it has been the target of strategic defederation campaigns, anti-communist propaganda in liberal and anarchist communities, and has been placed on a hard-coded block-list for Piefed, an explicitly neoliberal and NATO-friendly alternative to Lemmy.
At the time of writing, it is not known whether the disruption and reported decommissioning of Lemmygrad’s multimedia host is another deliberate act of anti-communist hostility.

Regardless of the cause of disruption, Lemmygrad has once again addressed the challenge with the utmost urgency and resolve. Respected comrade @[email protected] has managed to establish relations with another logistical partner, minimise the potential damage from the incident, and is working tirelessly to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Whereas many other communities may have faltered and expressed frustration, the Lemmygrad community rallied around their comrades, showing support and appreciation for their efforts in addressing the issue.

Lemmygrad has not only overcome challenges like these every time, but has also never turned down the call to assist its friends and partners when needed. During the notorious Hexbear domain incident, an existential issue for the socialist instance, The Embassy of Hexbear on Lemmygrad was established to provide refuge and an open line of communication and coordination for Hexbear users.
It has also provided a community for feedback, recruitment and support for sister project ProleWiki.

Lemmygrad has shown itself time and time again to be a reliable partner, but increasingly finds itself having to rely on self-sufficiency. It is not yet known what the long-term solutions for such challenges will look like; what is known is that Lemmygrad, with the support of its community, will always overcome them.

    P.S.

I liked reading it though. For the most part, feels like the kind of press release lemmygrad would have if it was a socialist state project.

Why would I not take such a well written and informative press release seriously? The tone and cadence is masterful. The content is factual and optimistic. 10/10

Been thinking about that tweet that goes, “Climate change will manifest as a series of disasters viewed through phones with footage that gets closer and closer to where you live until you’re the one filming it”.

Metaphorically, this is true of capitalism and its contradictions, not just climate change. Some are more insulated than others for now, but that won’t always be the case.

I don’t mean it in a scary doomer way either, it’s just like… living through decline is not going to be pretty, already isn’t. And it’s not going to turn around unless the regular people oust the imperialists and the capitalists from power.

i got fired 1 month ago and just recently left. i was very tired of work tbh. i wasnt enjoying what i was doing i didnt have any time for myself and i returned home very tired every day for a year. im actually looking forward to being “unemployed”(i still have another part time job and some freelance stuff) i could work on personal projects and finally rest and read some books, the only minus in being fired is not getting paid lol, but i still have enough income to be comfortable for a while. im a 3d artist motion designer btw but i was doing soc media posts in that ad agency lol it was more like spam content and i rarely used any 3d programs i just used photoshop lol, so yeah the only minus it has is not getting payed but other than that its great. btw you wanna know why i got fired? i asked for a payraise lmao and instead of them saying no they just fired me like wtf? eh whatever employee rights are fucked in my country fuck them

I wish I was surprised, but I’m not. A friend of mine got fired from a job for not wanting to work overtime, and another had half their department laid off with 4 days notice. Absolute bullshit.

I hope you could make the best of it, and find something better when the time comes.
