I am an American citizen, this is a democratic republic, the thing I’m supposed to be doing about this is voting, which I’ve done religiously since my 18th birthday 22 years ago. It’s up to the democrats because that’s what we voted for them to do! It’s their literal job!! When you’re the opposition party it’s your job to fight for me, the person who elected you, that’s how this works! The rule of law is far more powerful than I could ever be, that’s why we vote, it’s a proxy for literal fighting. I’m “inept” at literally fighting because that’s not my, or anyone’s role in society I’m very capable of doing my job as a citizen of a democratic republic however, I vote, I write letters, I fundraise, I organize, I used to caucus until my state stoped doing that… my job is to be a citizen not a brawler. I’m doing my job, the Dems need to do theirs.

To me having the bar be some outside goal seems so strange? So if a person is disabled and can’t “earn a living” or have the ability to navigate “the things needed for day to day life” whatever that means since it’s different for everyone, remains a child? To me this is a very dangerous way of defining adulthood and anyone denied the opportunity to earn money/gain skills is subjugated to being a child? Historically speaking this would make nearly all women children until the 1970s. Adulthood is a mindset

What about all the adults without jobs or parents whose labor primarily stays in the home? I think a stay at home parent with no income is still an adult.

I think it’s when you decide it, plenty of children walking around in grown bodies paying bills but also letting the whims of the world carry them with their current never taking a stand and steering their own lives. To be an adult is both a choice to be free from undue influence but also to be fully responsible for your own actions.

Yeah I didn’t discover Indian food until my 30s and I think a lot of curries are actually beautiful?? I cry probably daily on average if we count all types of crying. I’ve sobbed a handful of times in my life. I cry hard a few times a year. I mostly cry because I’m inspired by something like the Artemis II mission had me crying either because of the spirit of space travel or being touched by how much I love all 4 of the beautiful people on it. I cry when I’m happy.

Mostly stuff about me I know I’ve told them. If you ask me a question I know I’ve given you the information for before I’m having a bad time. To me it’s about how much attention is this person actually paying to our conversations or are they just phoning it in.

Narcissism often comes with an aspect of omnipotence, this idea that they must know all there is to know because the idea that something might be outside their sphere of knowledge would make them imperfect and since they believe they are perfect beyond reproach it would be impossible for it to be true. They really do believe they know everything and if you say otherwise it’s because you’re stupid and wrong.

All narcissists believe they are a deity in the sense their world view is what they believe to be omnipotent which is a trait only a deity could have.

It’s an ideological position, yes we should be striving for a non-ableist society
