The problem for Linux is that one person could have a wonderful experience with little issue, while somebody else can’t even boot their machine. It’s so across the board. I have several computers, and some love Linux while some hate Linux; some are 10x faster than Windows, while another is 2x slower than windows. I don’t mind. I love all the tweaking. But sometimes it takes some brainpower to figure out something. Windows seems to be mostly decent on most machines. I definitely have more issues in Linux to get things to work the way I want them. Still, I’m a Linux user, but , I can’t judge anybody for returning to windows.

politics @lemmy.world•Majority of Americans continue to favor moving away from Electoral College
21·1 year agoActually, it would be better for Republicans to try to convince the population their solutions are better instead of the BS we have now. It might help the Republican Party become somewhat normal again and then get more votes. I would love it if we could have real debates on real issues, instead of the BS we have now. I might even be a tad conservative in some areas… But right now, the choice is between Dems or Crazy Town. I think a popular vote would change politics and strategy so that you couldn’t have a Trump anymore.

News@lemmy.world•Kamala Harris Launches Presidential Bid: ‘My Intention Is to Earn and Win This Nomination’
11·1 year agoI don’t know where all this “I don’t like Harris” stuff comes from. Considering the presidents we’ve had lately, hahaha… if she won, it would be amazing. I’m sure there are better people in the world, but they don’t even get close to the White House. We have to be realistic. She’s a great pick considering current political realities.

Yeah, I used to believe that too. Until I read how irresponsible these scientists were. Before the outbreak, they were planning to release an enhanced version into bat caves filled with bats to observe how the coronavirus mutated. They were infecting bats in the lab with coronavirus. Nobody said they created this from scratch, but they could have definitely helped evolution along. Even the CIA suspects it could have been a lab leak. I think the problem is that thinking it is “man-made” is hard for many, but it’s not difficult to believe that the evolution of the virus was influenced by humans.
