  • There are quite a lot of unhoused people who would rather remain homeless. From the conversations I’ve had, it’s not always just circumstances beyond their control. Some have had negative experiences with shelters or social services, and many feel more freedom living outside the system than being tied to its rules and restrictions. It’s not the case for everyone, but for some, homelessness is a conscious choice rather than only the result of hardship.

  • I see these comments every time military aid is talked about. Military aid isn’t just sending money. It can include weapons, equipment, training, or other support to help a country defend itself or strengthen its military. Sometimes, the aid is in the form of funds, but often it’s specific resources like tanks, aircraft, or technical expertise. Believe it or not, it helps the US economy while also helping our allies protect themselves without risk to american lives. Taiwan has the right to stand up for itself, unless you are against that policy stance I’m not sure what else to say.

  • I get what you’re saying and agree, but patriotism doesn’t inherently lead to xenophobia. It can coexist with openness, respect for diversity, and global cooperation.

Patriotism is defined as love for one’s country, a sense of pride in its culture, values, and history, and a desire to contribute to its well-being. In its positive form, patriotism encourages civic responsibility, unity, and respect for a nation’s traditions without hostility toward others.

Of course in some cases it can lead to ultra-nationalism, but it doesn’t have to.
