I have used sailfishOS back in 2019 on my XA2. I used it without license (demo basically) without knowing it. Was familiar enough with Linux to update and manage apps by myself. But all in all. It was a nice year with that phone. Many problems are fixed by now. I wanted to use it with a pebble back then but I could not get one at that time. I switched later to GrapheneOS and bought a Pixel 3. Why? More Privacy/Security Features. But I miss my handy Linux terminal…. Also leaned a little Qt to Programm or fix simple apps on Sailfish. My XA2 got now a license for SailfishOS and lies in my drawer since I sometimes want to test apps

Jolla Phone and Sony Xperia with Sailfish OS Pixel with GrapheneOS Fairphone with (multiple options) PinePhone (not recommended, old tech)
I also looked into Jolla SailfishOS. I tested it back then with the XA2, now I would go with the Xperia 10 V or VI (when it is supported). Because of better performance. https://docs.sailfishos.org/Support/Supported_Devices/

4·4 个月前If I remember correctly, the cellular chip is also closed source on the BraXPhone. This was one of the criticisms that I heard.

44·4 个月前I also used rooting at the beginning (Android 4.0 to 7.0) but realized that it is a little bit of a security problem, so I later used cfw without rooting the device. But root was a lot of fun, like cpu scheduler tweaks, apk patches or system mods. TWRP simple backups and restores. System Application removal (daim Facebook App…… 2014 users will remember)

64·4 个月前This was the only reason I liked Android over iOS: the CFW community. I’ve been running some sort of CFW since Android 4.0. Now, the charm has gone. GrapheneOS, SailfishOS, e/OS, LineageOS, iode OS, and even CyanogenMod – I’ve used them all. Each one has its own target group and use case. I hope it turns into the better one again. It’s like forcing a PC to only run the OS it’s delivered with.
Only English ones?

Oh and the i2c etc stuff, I connected ESP32 and other microcontrollers over USB.
I have an old pentium laptop N3520 with 4GB DDR3. I removed everything and put it in a receiver box 1U size. It consumes so little energy that it can run 5-7 hours from its battery (I call it build in USV). Last time I measured 3-7w. Also passiv cooled , no noise. Another machine I use , is with a i7 4770 with 16GB for Proxmox, 7-20w , peak is much higher but rarely used , only on boot and vm startup.

Don’t know sorry. I think someone wrote an app for the old pebble time watch back then (2019). Just look in the SailfishOS app stores if there is an app for your watch. You can access them via web browser https://openrepos.net/
