That was a few years back, but I doubt that’s changed without some sketchy statistic interpretations.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Sanders: Democratic Party ‘has abandoned working class people’2·9 months agoDefinitely need to change our voting system. I really like Veritasium’s recentish video on voting systems. Sounds like approval voting is even better than ranked choice. Anything but first-past-the-post, please!

It made me crave more survival games where you have a mobile base like that and Below Zero really fell flat with their main sub you couldn’t build in.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Discord says piracy subpoena would violate users’ First Amendment rightsEnglish4·10 months agoYeah, I’ve never needed to add a phone number.
I’d be satisfied with replacing the ad segment with some other video temporarily.
That’s something like a cleaver, so it’s got a blunt tip that looks like it’s going through her blouse.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto News@lemmy.world•Tim Walz calls for scrapping of electoral college to decide US presidential race41·10 months agoAnd so we’ll remain until we can also get rid of the two party system. This would be a good start, but we also need to change our voting system to anything but this awful first-past-the-post system.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•So, my weirdo Stanley Parable inspired game finally made it to Most Wishlisted Steam Games. And I'm pretty sure a lot of you are to blame...English2·10 months agoCurrently enjoying the demo. I’ve definitely wanted more nonsense like this in gaming.
One simple thing to fix is widescreen FOV, which is fortunately trivial. Simply add the following lines to Engine.ini in the config files and it should handle any screen width just fine:
[/script/engine.localplayer] AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV
The great thing is, if everyone’s on the list, no one is!
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•Nintendo's lawsuit against Palworld isn't just bad for the industry, it's bad for NintendoEnglish4·10 months agoIn the US, Atari tried to sue someone who made an Asteroids clone back in 1981 and lost because Meteors, the clone had made some improvements on the idea of Asteroids (color, among other things). This cemented US legal precedent that you can’t sue people for “ripping off” games so long as they make some meaningful change to it and aren’t just making a direct knock-off.
This current case is in Japan, however, where the legal landscape is very different and companies need to be legally aggressive to maintain any rights to their IP from what I understand. I have no idea how that’s going to go down.
I’m voting for this guy in November.
The lowest tip value should be higher to reflect current tip pressuring tactics.

Yeah, I worked in a secure facility that did this and it felt both secure and reasonable. I just kept my card on a lanyard to my belt so I literally couldn’t walk away without pulling the card.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•End of the Road - Anandtech has closed downEnglish2·11 months agoLet’s not forget about HotHardware. They’re still carrying the torch of detailed hardware analysis as well my beloved NotebookCheck.
Lev_Astov@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Logitech has an idea for a “forever mouse” that requires a subscriptionEnglish8·1 year agoI’ve found that’s because their mice will go to sleep and upon first waking they’ll briefly use an onboard profile before switching to the G Hub profile. This is also why it might feel like it has a different DPI briefly or different light settings for just a flash. The only way to fix this is to use their totally separate OnboardMemoryManager software to change the onboard settings while running G Hub. It solved this issue for me and it’s infuriating that this isn’t built into G Hub…
I still don’t understand why they’re doing it. They can’t possibly think this will be good long-term, can they?
And what’s with the article ending on a note of trying to make it sound bad that reviving nuclear power is a negative thing? If that’s the result of AI slop, then I’d call it a net positive.
