Aware of that. But was more thinking how cool it would be if we could just enter URL and voila. Kinda like GNOME’s Online Account feature and/or backup feature works on Linux. But yes, this would be a lot of work, with very little gain in it for them.

I know it will probably not happen, and if it does it will be an industry first, but it would be great if they allow people to map this secure backup to a selfhosted Nextcloud or similar.
Based on OPs requirements, this is the answer

Luckyfriend222@lemmy.worldOPto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•SOLVED: A central tool to monitor multiple solutions via their own APIEnglish2·7 months agoThank you for the response. I would love to steer clear of D.I.Y merely because I would like to create continuity within the company. If I leave, they should be able to move ahead with it. But your point is very valid. Indeed something like an influxDB with grafana might be a good idea.
I have not thought of Zabbix, thank you for the proposal. I will give it a go and see if this can be a fit somehow. Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

I do straight VM installations unfortunately. I am too stupid for K8s. But seeing how the rest of their stuff is packaged, I suspect you will be fine!
I have been maintaining several self-hosted GitLab instances over the past 5 years, and it rarely takes me longer than 20minutes per update.
Their upgrade paths are clearly marked and well thought out. Their packaging methods are of great quality.
You will not regret going with GitLab.

You can already set up your photos to automatically save in Nextcloud? With Nextcloud sync client’s auto-upload feature? I have photos on phone and Nextcloud only.
Luckyfriend222@lemmy.worldto homeassistant@lemmy.world•Entity control from iOS widgetEnglish1·1 year agoSorry, reread your post. I am indeed wrong. My entity control is done with script like turning porch light on, so that is why I have it in my widget. It is a script. Sorry about that.

Luckyfriend222@lemmy.worldto homeassistant@lemmy.world•Entity control from iOS widgetEnglish2·1 year agoHe is probably talking about light switches like a porch light or garage light that you want quick access to when you get home and for some reason your automation never switched it on, so you want to quickly access it on a homescreen via a widget, and not have to go into the app and search through multiple dashboards etc. His use case and therefor his question is totally valid.
Luckyfriend222@lemmy.worldto homeassistant@lemmy.world•Entity control from iOS widgetEnglish2·1 year agoNever used it, but checked iOS widget now, and you are correct. It only gives options to three things: Ask AI, Actions, and open page. Nothing else on my iOS.
Some NVIDIA licenses will prohibit assigning it to more than one VM.
