Boiling the frog

Like many others, I switched away recently after years of Mozilla’s constant suckery. Fed up with dealing with their constant terrible decisions.

Nah the leading scholars on the crisis consider this a conspiracy theory. In reality our governer general (basically an unelected president whose job is to mostly just do what the elected PM wants) decided that the progressive government’s impending potential of not funding the government due to political deadlock under a PM who would do anything to run out his term in government regardless was untenable, and so basically put the opposition in charge so they could immediately call an election to settle this. I don’t think he made the right decision, and I wouldn’t be surprised if some Americans and Brits the GG invariably spoke to as part of his job thought he should do that or something like it, but I think it was wholly his decision in line with his known political modus operandi.
The idea that there was some underhanded plot from the US though is a conspiracy that has rapidly grown recently due to various unscrupulous political commentators.

As an Australian I’m thankful that while our Liberal (conservative) party is shit and evil, they’re just barely not quite as unhinged as the UK and certainly USA overall. In part because we have reasonably strong democratic processes like the independent Australian Electoral Commission responsible for electorate zoning, running elections etc.

Excuse me wtf, like I knew people were fucked up but WHAT THE FUCK

It’s amazing how much the media refuse to believe people have other interests than their publicly stated goals.

Ben & Jerry’s gives out free ice cream at various progressive protests here in Australia. It is delicious and amazing for morale.
Yeah I love LibreOffice’s customisability including sidebar etc, but OnlyOffice just performs a lot better and handles the most common formats better for me

The limited benchmarks I’ve seen put the new X Elite at slightly less efficient than the M2 Pro (let alone M3 Pro). It only gets marginally higher scores when operating at 3x the wattage.
Also, let’s not imagine even for a second that notoriously terrible ARM are going to make it easy to support this chip, especially not in the long term.
Out of all the digital stores Steam arguably offers by far the most actual functionality and features for its cut. It’s still too high, but it’s possibly the least egregious example vs Apple, Google etc
