I am aware they are older. The USA is only 250 years old. You are right, though, I will stop measuring them like that. If your whole argument is “a rapist will never be able to save us” you’re wrong. A lot of your favorite historical figures, or the ones you’d most admire, are some of the biggest rapists ever. As a Mexican whose grand grandfather escaped Lebanon in the Middle East, if you elect someone like Susan Collins, or someone very similar, it means more of my people will continue to suffer in misery, be killed and raped. Some by American troops themselves. So, to me, you’re worse than a terrorist for this hate you show to Graham Platner. In Mexico, we have been FORCED to support people way worse than a rapist or mere killer to be able to make the country better. And it did get better, because what mattered most were the actions and ideas, not the personality or who the person was at that moment. That’s why the quote “Never meet your heroes” exist. Why are you still trying to purity test everyone if you are already morally inferior? Why waste time? Just focus on winning and dismantling this system asap already.

When you were young, were you rich or poor? Did you ever interact with children that came from very poor neighborhoods at school? Children who were truly broken from the start, their parents doing domestic violence, especially in poorer countries or cities like here in Mexico. Some of them are victims of sexual abuse. A lot of them get forced or recruited to a cartel when they are as young as 12. We have the infamous “El Ponchis” a 11-year old whose job was to decapitate people. That was a decade ago, he received a lot of therapy and help, and it is said he has changed and reformed. Of course the scar is still there and it must be hard to look at him in the eyes, but this is Humanity, dog. If you cannot navigate through it, then you shouldn’t be even trying to interact with it. You’re only causing more death and destruction with your relentless loyalty to your own image, not what it’s best for Humanity at the moment.

Seriously, time will only tell: If you elect someone whose policies are worse than Platner’s, another corpo or Susan Collins or someone like her, you’ll be more morally reprehensible and disgusting than Platner himself. That’s the deal here, whether you like or not, it is the bet you just made.
