Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions.
From the article.
Not sure if the same thing but in Japan the Pre-purchase reservation lottery has already opened.
Excuse my patronization, but I’m getting exhausted at having to explain it over and over for defeatist Americans. You have to keep up the fight even if it’s not perfect. It brings people together. It motivates people to action and become stronger as a group rather than divided as individuals. You have a country to save from the destruction and occupation by the billionaire class. There’s so many more normal Americans than there are billionaires, you all need to be in a big group to begin to realize that. If you’ve given up, the 1%ers win by default. A movement is brewing, be part of the solution rather than throwing it away because it’s not completely coherent yet. Start peacefully, take precautions as necessary, let them put all Americans on a list and prosecute you unjustly. Pre-emptive capitulation is how you all got here.
Get out there, the minimum you can do is stand with your working class sibling. Being together rather than just sitting at home despairing IS doing something.
If WA OR CA governors wanted to start forming a bloc to negotiate deals internationally that would be interesting.
Country for sale! Buy now!
For the US only, lol
Yes, but we have to move past the “it can’t be that bad for my business” and the “don’t blame me, I didn’t vote for Trump” excuses. Blue state residents have to actually stand up for their state and fellow residents against this administration. I’ve been impressed by some of the protests in LA in support of Mexico, but Sacramento, Olympia, Albany, Salem have a lot of legwork to do to protect itself from the Trump admin. Canadian actions are meant to spur individual Americans to action as well.
I get that there are many Americans and American companies that do great things. Hell, I still have a Costco membership because they treat their workers and customers really well for a large chain, and have demonstrably rejected the “anti-woke” movement.
But understand that if this keeps going on I’m not renewing it this year. This is because every dollar that goes to Washington DC through US federal taxes is metaphorical ammunition for Trump, to illegally threaten to withhold funding for refusing to go along with his demands.
The results are expected, but it’s the fact that the US President is stupid enough to hurt his own country having the entire country’s resources at his own disposal to know better, is a bit shocking. It’s like stepping on a rake while pointing and looking at it.
“That’s the kind of disruption we would never expect,” said Hung. “I never heard of this happening until now. It’s definitely quite a bit of headwinds."
This is exactly the reason we have to affect blue states like CA/WA/NY/MA just like red states with our dollar. So many people and companies still have their head in the sand and don’t realize the Trump rhetoric is a real threat to Canada and more than just trolling. They don’t really become aware of it until it actually affects them and that’s not limited to Republicans.
The most powerful part of Carney’s speech today imo, after talking about the need to renegotiate the US trading partnership while looking to the world to diversify:
“President Trump is taking this economy in a different direction. He ran on that. He promised it. And now he’s delivering. And yes, this is a big change. I’m not going to shy away from it, but we needed a big change,” Vance told “Fox & Friends.”
Trump is changing the economy from “up” to “down”?
Markets will still consider it a win if Trump does not else good in the next 4 years except for extend the “tax cuts and jobs” billionaire and corporate handouts. He seems to be failing at that and DOGE has only made it harder in for Congress (in a budgetary sense) for them to do it.
Who knew that hiring people based on how much they suck up to you would mean that everyone on your team (including yourself) is incompetent?
Not to worry, he just taxed all the world’s stuff on Americans.
Not really reciprocal levies but a blanket levy with a couple reciprocal actions…
I mean no surprises there, but if things go as I imagine it’s not going to mean that much any more. If people in the US are buying and travelling less, that will still sink the demand for oil, and if the glut from OPEC continues then it will be game over for many producers.
