Excluding people from being able to speak based on the current administration’s definition of blatantly fake disinformation is a bad idea. Once again, look who is now in charge of what is ‘blatantly fake’… They’d be suing the crap out of Lemmy under that law… Europe is all in on censorship, so we can only hope the Nazis don’t take over there again or we’ll be boxed in from every direction.

The answer is never censorship. Look at who would be in charge of your ‘regulated’ social media now… It would be all of it instead of just the now hyper-regulated X.

Well… To be fair, I have a switch for me and a switch for my wife that we played daily animal crossing on for years besides our other games and never had a tracking issue, or any other issue, on either one, so it isn’t an inevitable failure. Well, I’m not sure how I feel about preemptively burning your own books, willingly diving back into the stone age for no good reason. Most of the fears outlined in the article are pure speculation and over-reaction to current events. If data from 23 and Me (the source of most of this data being burned) is really getting out there to be purchased, this hiding of data and data destruction does not even inconvenience bad state actors, it only puts up a big bad-actor sourced pay wall in front of legitimate scientists. This is really a shameful cowardice at best, anti-science either way, and at worst they may be actually selling the data to someone and then deleting the public database behind a big flourish with smoke and mirrors. (Reading back my post to myself I guess I am sure how I feel about preemptively burning your own books. It makes me mad apparently. )

There is a place for Capitalism. Prisons, Hospitals, Insurance, police and mental health facilities, to name a few, are not the place.

I die too fast in Noita to get too deep into it… I liked what I played of it though. Something about Starbound made it feel like Temu Terraria… I can’t put my finger on why it feels so … fake? Like physics or the way the player model moves and interacts with blocks is off or something. Maybe it is just too close to Terraria and the many hours I spent in Terraria makes anything close feel off.

I suppose in a few months, after this current round of Minecraft, I’ll be pulled into Terraria again. I had a pretty good head of steam on the way to finishing my 2 year old run of BG3 when I made the mistake of opening Minecraft… Terraria is about the only thing that could rival minecraft in addictive qualities for me. It has the added benefit that I can talk my wife into playing Terraria but she won’t touch minecraft.

Inconsistent toll by tag enforcement probably isn’t helping. In Orlando I had a bill from one agency and and account with another. If it reads my electronic tag it pays from the one account, but if it mis-reads it charges by tag in another agency… I nearly got a ticket despite making sure my main account was paid off. The confusion could have toll notices from an unfamiliar source seem valid.
