  • Same country, but yea you shouldn’t believe me at all without proof, not implying you should either, but yeah are dope people, loved the way he talked about doing consulting, “eh, listen here, a job is just a means to an end, so you gotta try and work as little as possible, I do have a private office space I rent that I go to a few times a week, but I try not to if I can help it, and with big companies you always overbill when it comes to time, they don’t really know how much time anything takes anyways smirk, and then I get time back to do whatever I feel like actually working on.” And his gf at the time (a trans girl) was also wicked smart, oh, they also liked going to vegas every so often (I don’t even know if they are still together tho, its been a long time and I didn’t keep in touch at all)

  • Played only for a bit, and as you said its your first game I comment too much in the technical aspect and lets pretend it doesn’t have any bugs or jankiness for now. I don’t like the game too much, maybe it was the GMTK prompt though? I don’t know what was the prompt given, but what I dislike, is that it’s kind of like those old arcade Dragon’s Lair games. The way you win this one is: you boot it up, go through every interact-able item until you exhaust all options, run out of time, die, repeat, but now you remember the places that you already checked, and you go check other ones instead of the ones you already checked, yes the number changes every run but you know where to find it now. All the other options are just time wasters for the first few runs you do. I haven’t finished the game but I’m guessing that’s the gist of it, it’s a memory game. (Not bad at all tho for your first game jam, the graphics look cohesive and well put together)

  • Well I’d like that the switch around to be more clear, its hard to tell how fast is too fast to move, maybe the red danger thing could be replaced with a sliding bar or some kind of progression, like: (1) ok (2) getting a bit tilted to the side (3) getting too close to dmg! (4) getting damaged and losing a heart. (this can be done with a slider or color you don’t need text, just a better indication, also you should try and calculate if its possible for the player to catch the falling objects, from any place on the screen, it might be impossible to react (not sure just a feeling) in some situations. Id maybe make objects of different weights too, so they don’t fall all at the same rate (you can color code the fruits so the player can tell easily), and give a small delay of a few milliseconds between when the object appears and then falls down so the player can prepare for multiple objects and plan out which ones to go for first.

Also i know its a demo, but there’s no penalty for not catching the fruits, when i went down to 1 heart i stopped trying to catch them and let go of the mouse. Got to 233 score before getting tired of it and decided to close it. https://postimg.cc/9Dyv0w24

  • Yeah i won’t go a ton into detail, but he (i wont say which one out of the 2 main guys) had an interesting relationship with his girlfriend at the time, so he threw some cash my way for me to do her in front of him. It wasn’t like too weird or like the cuck thing, they were just really a horny couple and w me being a cute young short guy on a girl cosplay… Well seems they love having fun haha. They were super respectful and we had lunch together watching rick and morty before getting it on. Also they love playing the stock market, this godot guy told me he over estimates consulting jobs for big companies (2 weeks for a thing that takes him like 3-4 days) and then he spends the rest of the time playing with stocks, he tried to explain it to me but it was super complicated for my small brain. TLDR: godot guys are chill af

  • I’ll say something stupid here, are drunk driving accidents just because the guy was slightly drunk or because he wasn’t skilled enough at driving? I’d bet an f1 driver could survive driving on a regular neighborhood off skill alone, while a regular person could prob crash and burn. I think being homeless is the same as drinking alcohol while driving, the alcohol being the social difficulties/outside circumstances and then your personal skill in managing life/jobs. I think it’s both, but after you become homeless for a while, its harder to get back on track so you can spiral down and then it’s harder.

  • After all the dumb changes to reddit and surveillance in general I decided to try and look for an alternative, If I knew it was this easy to get into lemmy I would’ve done it SO much sooner. Also i think this is my first day here? And every time I posted something I got a TON of responses, like I could argue even more attention than I would get on reddit, also the responses were better? Like what? How? There’s way less users here… Just imagine if Lemmy grew just a bit more, doesn’t need to beat reddit at all, just to grow a bit more (with good users ofc) That would be insane, Im having way more fun here already, the community is so much better, the only thing im missing/haven’t found yet, is those r4r reddit-like forums where you get to meet people to dm and stuff
