I understand, I tend to be that way too. I hope the future holds positive surprises for you and perhaps another friend who understands you will come into your life. 🙏

Thank you for sharing your story. I hope things get much better for you 🙏
All of this decade has been the worst time of my life, but this year has been very slightly better than last at least. Really need people to start actually hiring again and for the economy to stop being the worst, but no hope there. I’m just begging for the reaper at this point.

GTAV, while I liked it, was a minor disappointment for me and I burned out on it. Plus after seeing how GTA Online went and how greedy they got with it, I’m just not interested in Take Two/Rockstar games anymore.
SomGye@dormi.zoneto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Was your own birth a good thing for you and would you have chosen to be born today?1·6 months ago- I was moreso referring to my actual ‘being’ as unnatural, as I have a collection of disorders and oddities that make me unable to fit into society and just feel like a burden more than anything else. My wording isn’t the best here.
- I kind of wish that were the case, but it’s mostly the opposite. I’m still alive because I wish to help out my friends as much as I can before I go, but also I’m a coward and don’t really have the luxury of ending things early. I have debts to pay and sometimes I’m in the position where I can lend a helping hand, so that’s at least something. But no, I wish that I could go, but I cannot.
SomGye@dormi.zoneto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Was your own birth a good thing for you and would you have chosen to be born today?3·6 months agoFor me personally, absolutely not. I genuinely believe that the world would have been better off without my existence disrupting the natural order.
But, as another comment has said, you go off of the hand you are dealt. If you believe that you have both the resources and the correct mentality to bring new children into the world and raise them, then absolutely do it. The fact that you’re thinking about it this much is already a great sign, as most parents I’ve known just don’t think or care and just randomly have babies, and then are constantly frustrated with the children afterwards. Just be really sure it’s what you want for the rest of your life.
SomGye@dormi.zoneto Technology@lemmy.world•Bitly adds interstitial ads to shortened URLs, unlocking new revenue streamEnglish3·7 months agoThose are all valid. For me, the two reasons I like to use one is:
- Better for social media with very limited characters
- You can choose the “slug” and make your source link into an easy to remember link that works anywhere (only on certain shorteners, I use one that lets you do this for free)
Bonus reason I guess: - When source link needs to be updated but you want to keep the same destination URL, you can do this via the shortener service and now you don’t have to update that link in the code or data of your websites that use it. (Some shorteners don’t support this, I use one that does)

So far 5G has been slower and less reliable (more random dropped and switched connections) than 4G LTE, and LTE-A was super fast for a bit. The 5G rollout is still ongoing too.
