Third spaces were much more common before the 2000s. Coffee shops where you could hang out with friends were actually a thing in the 90s. Open mic nights and karaoke. I remember we had a common ritual at the book store I worked where everyone who closed would meet up at TGI Fridays for late night drinks, TGIF doesn’t even exist any more. I used to meet up with a bunch of friends at Dennys every Thursday night, and then it fucking closed.

As someone who worked in a movie theater for four years, popcorn/candy is really not that big of a deal. Even in the biggest disasters (usually kids movies) you just break out the push broom and just walk down each row while someone else sweeps up at the aisles.
It’s the wet foods that are actually annoying. Nacho cheese is the worst, because it smears all over the place. Then there’s the bodily fluids…
Also, the people who clean between shows are called ushers. Janitors come early in the morning to vacuum, mop the floors and clean the bathrooms.
There was no curse in the tv show, he was born like that.
Stockholm Syndrome isn’t an actual thing, fyi. It has never been recognized as a condition and never been diagnosed. The entire thing was an attempt to dismiss valid reactions to police incompetence.

Thats MISTER Banana Beak to you, fuzzy!
And boy are they angry about it.
Unfortunately the entire market looks like this. You have to normalize the graph against the S&P to see how they’re really doing.
Is this a Turning Red cosplay?
A lot of these serve as ways to help immigrants gain a stable footing. This is why the staff changes all the time, the business just exists to get the employees a quick work visa so they can enter the country. Once they have better work lined up, they move on.
I’d do it, but I think I’d be worse at being a criminal.
Just one? Knowing how expensive commercial rent is in this area, I’m pretty sure quite a few of the stores around here are fronts. No way this town supports 12 different nail salons. There’s a taco shop and a greek place in the same shopping center that both taste terrible and are always completely empty. How does a vacuum and sewing repair shop stay in business in this day and age?
There are 85 locations remaining in the united states. Thats down from 270 in the 90s. There are only four in California where I live.
They got bought up by private equity and gutted, just like red lobster.
