Indeed, sometimes I really appreciate a heads up of if I can save in the middle of gameplay or if I have to complete a whole run before it saves progress, things like that are not deal breakers but it can definitely affect how I play a game

I got into Balatro finally, and holy fuck, it really is great. I wanted a turn based roguelike since I realized I didn’t have many of those, and I knew it’d be good, but it’s hard to find something I don’t like about the game.

It looks good, the interface is good, the music is an awesome ever changing single chill song, it’s turn based so you can think about your decisions, but if your build is strong you can play pretty quick too. There are tons of build options and unlocks.

There is a nice balance between playing hands and altering your build between rounds, I like that the money economy is low in number, similar to darkest dungeon and its low number damage stats even single digits matter. Learning the game and starting runs you begin to establish a build that you can add synergy to incredibly quickly. I just struggle to find anything bad to say about it.

There isn’t a DS emulator on switch, so of course they didn’t do explorers, even though it is probably the better game.

I also strongly prefer the pixel art of rescue team and explorers before the series went 3D and I still prefer the pixel art to the remake, even though the remake does have a nice style.

It’s not necessary, no, but it can totally be a pro, unless you just don’t want to be friends with your lover.

That and if the idea of being lonely frightens you or makes you sad it can be easy to want to latch onto anyone, that’s really easy to fall into.

Also, unless they meant fear of breaking up, there’s no need to fear being divorced if you just don’t get married. Not everybody wants or needs to get married, that also sort of falls into the “take your time and really assess the partner” idea

Some of those cons could be true, but I think the bigger problem is that they only listed “sex and money” as the only pros.

What are you doing in a relationship if that person isn’t basically a really good friend that you can laugh with, do hobbies with, watch and talk about movies with, share music with, etc.

Sure you might have to hang out with mutual friends you don’t love (Though a good partner won’t force you to). You do need to spend time on their hobbies and likes if you don’t specifically share them. I’m not sure if I can vouch for the rest, though, those are some cons where you need to be really selective and find like minds to be with (don’t like to speak very often).

the other two (manipulated for sex, fear of divorce) are more like things you should go to therapy to learn not to tolerate or worry about, respectively.

Today I had Blake’s Triple Jam, it is pretty good. Cider’s the only alcoholic drink I’ve ever had where almost regardless of the particular cider I don’t need to “get used” to the taste. Most of the time I dislike regular beer and hard liquor is to be tolerated, mixed drinks don’t count, that’s cheating (but delicious)

I’m glad that you enjoyed this game! Some of your reactions to the characters’ fates took me back to when I played the series on Vita haha. It was also nice to see you mention the extra stuff like Distrust.

I will warn you now, if you are playing the trilogy through on the Switch’s Decadence Collection… V3 is poorly optimized during certain class trial sections and I actually struggled to complete some of the mini games because of how laggy it was (when it ran perfectly on the Vita). It’s possible they patched it since I played it after the first or second patch, but keep it in mind.

It is still doable, but it’s a bit of a shame because I love this series. I hope you enjoy Goodbye Despair and V3 provided you complete them as well!

I mean, I’ve seen you on here enough to know that your brain trends towards negativity and that there’s a solid chance that if you put the time in you could get somewhere with it, even if it’s just average.

I’m not saying everyone can just be Eddie Van Halen, I’m also not saying that you should just bash your head against the wall and learn if you don’t want to, but learning the basics of guitar is not intellectually difficult, it just requires dedication, and it’s cool if you like the sound of guitar, but don’t want to learn the technique, (which isn’t musical at all, it just ends up producing music).

To say you can’t is a convenient way to explain it. It’s okay to say you don’t have enough motivation to learn it. Even once you can play an instrument you still need the motivation to keep playing, and if you don’t, then that’s all good. No one thing is for everyone.

No need to say you’re stupid or incapable, you’re absolutely smart enough and capable, you just don’t have the motivation to overcome the learning curve, and that’s completely acceptable.
