No, I just try to. My blocklist is like forty miles at this point
Edit: always entertaining to read rationalizations of “exposing myself to the constant depressing drudgery of political news coverage is like a moral imperative or some shit” btw

What, that’s bad too now? What are the supposed… implications?
“The American dream” was socioeconomic mobility, that shit is for commies these days.
That is just every country, countries would hardly try to look worse than they are.
Scientists and other rationalists. If you wanted to be dramatic, their fight to save ourselves and the planet would be against the inertia of “common wisdom”, known bugs in human psychology, the resistance of wanting to disregard the unknown or unpleasant, everyone for whom the truth (to the best of our knowledge) is economically inconvenient with the considerable economic and societal power they wield.
They are not good odds, but it is correct against incorrect and often against malignantly incorrect, and they are all extremely formidable villains.
If you have a perfectly normal (non-pathological) lack of confidence then pretending to be confident may allegedly help you. A cynic could remark that that requires knowing what that looks like and being able to pull it off, while almost nobody offering that particular “advice” seems to feel a huge need to elaborate on it.
It’s a cliché.
That’s fair. Sounds like a very reasonable way to explain it to the kids’ parents, too, if you get the occasion.
Maybe they could start using an engine that is more recent than the Cretaceous.
Start handing out kazoos.
Can I non-jokingly ask why that’s such a big deal? If it’s all up in your grill I get it, or some stupid liability thing. Otherwise, there’s little enough joy in the world, what’s the harm?
Now the ducks colonize the moat and you have two attractions. You may or may not also need a third - a drawbridge - for your own access.
It’s disgusting that you endorse discriminating against people
If you’re not trolling - poorly - then you obviously have massive issues. I would encourage you to seek out some help for those.
Then go sue them over their lack of Your Particular Setup-compatible wifi, I guess.
It’s their network that they are offering as a service, if they say no then no it is.
This doesn’t explain shit. It tosses a bunch of graphs at you with the feeling of someone suggestively waggling their eyebrows. Some of the graphs have completely valid points. Some are of unclear relevance. Most of all, the page busily works to correlate all these in your mind while carefully not actually arguing anything. That should basically always make you thoroughly fucking suspicious - no matter what the message is.
Maybe the site is completely right about whatever its carefully-only-implied point is: that’s the beauty of not really taking a clear stance at all, but just throwing information at people that is likely to allow them to extrapolate whatever you want them to. You also don’t have to do pesky things like providing citations, justifying your reasoning, or even explaining what that reasoning is.
I would absolutely recommend against using this as a teaching tool. It could (generously…) be used as a reference for yourself, sure, if you can otherwise back up the implied connections in a way this site did not even try. The fact that its implied point, “wealth hoarding bad” (I assume) is a fairly good one, does not mean this is a good way of communicating it.
It’s not like that’s a worse metric than MBTI
Ooooh! No, my bad, I’ll have that fixed in a jiff now that you’ve pointed it out. Thanks!
Wouldn’t surprise me. If you’re not into ragebait, tankieism, linux smugness, the painful minutiae of corporations fucking everyone, US bullshit, or all of the above… this place is really pretty slow.
I only really browse “all” on this site and it does seem like fresh content trickles in at a fairly slow rate. At least part of that is that it needs to squeeze by what is now pages and pages of blocked communities just trying to avoid the doomposting.
… OK, but seriously, what the fuck is it? Marketingspeke is cool (apparently), I get it, but what does it literally do?
I’ve seen this without the slur, but it’s still weird that people are out here trying to redefine specific, well-defined, unambiguous, basic, and universal English terms. Not as a metaphor, not even as a bit, or attempted point (luckily, as it wouldn’t have been a good one), just using a term in a way apparently nobody else ever does.
MOAR!
