In the context of prices of cars it is indeed a rather small amount.
k is just a prefix, it is unit-independent

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What have you completely stopped buying because the price has gotten ridiculus?
1·2 days agoI agree that tobacco products should be heavily taxed, but should cigarettes be banned outright? I’m not sure banning is the right way to go, I mean just look at what the prohibition of alcohol back then did. A thriving, unregulated black market. People should be able to buy cigarettes, that way they can be sure of what it is they are smoking.
Just my opinion tho.

5·3 days agoA lot of food is still safe to consume after it’s expiration date, tho. I think in the US it’s called ‘best by’ or sth like that, underlining that it isn’t necessarily a hard expiration date, just that it tastes the best before this date.

243·4 days agoKinda ironic how people say we live in a cost of living crisis but then people also have always money at hand to throw it out the window for top level consumerism stuff. People have no self-restraint, do they
Edit: self-restraint, not self-constraint

It’s important to be critical, but mindlessly blaming everone and everything to be billionare-controlled is just as dumb as being naive and believing everything u see on the Internet.
The sales of consumer GPUs make up a veeeery tiny percentage of nvidias revenue. Nvidia could stop selling consumer GPUs tomorrow and it wouldn’t even make a noticeable dent in their revenues. And what other options do u really have? Any other company ain’t much better.

2·13 days agoProlly they all live in a big city. And living in a big city sucks ass, but most people have no choice because that’s where the jobs are. I luckily live outside a big city in small village with forests and fields around me. But still near enough a medium-sized city so that I don’t have to commute for ages. But I see that not everyone can live in places like mine, so the big city it is, where it is loud and full. Kinda understandable that u want to get away from it, then. But yeah, it doesn’t mean that u need to fly to other side of the earth to do vacation, usually your own country has enough pretty spots to spend ur vacation.
