I agree on the hardware front.

I made the choice to move from windows to Mac for my work-provided laptop and I absolutely love it for track pad alone. I have never used another machine where the track pad worked so well. The movement feels natural in relation to how the cursor moves on the screen and the gestures seem so reasonable for my mind.

I’m always open to suggestions when it comes to better hardware but, right now, I can’t see changing away because I like the feel so much.

I was thinking the same thing but the red plates read 2.5kg. not sure what the others are but I’m assuming 22kg in total? Still very amazing considering my mother, who is 20 years this woman’s junior, couldn’t do this.

I’m in tech sales as a SE. So it’s definitely not important. I’ve been in this job for almost a decade and as an engineer I hate the sales process. I have been skating by for a vast majority of my time in the job simply doing what I need to to “answer the mail.” My customers like me and know I’ll do what they need when they need it, but I’m not banging on doors to make the sale. The account has been successful the entire time I’ve been working it and my company pays me buckets of money. I think I’m proud of my work-to-income ratio but not of anything I actually do as part of the job.

I answer some emails, sit on calls while playing video games, and point people at other people to get answers. It’s mindless and boring and I’ll do it as long as they’ll let me.

My experience is quite different. I have 4 puppos and we have practiced “lining up” with each in their place as they wait for their meals. I release them with a simple “Okay” and they know the difference between that and “Ohhhhhhtay” and “Ohio” or “Oahu.”

These examples differ a bit from what you said but I think dogs can differentiate better than we give them credit for sometimes.
