This! Our industry is far too dependent on the car market. Car ownership is going down and people don’t need to buy new cars all the time. The market is saturated. When I look around, everybody is driving a relatively new car that won’t have to be replaced for years. It’s just not a growth industry - and by the love of god, it shouldn’t be one.

Okay, I won’t pass judgment until I see the actual real-life price of the truck with the modification for an additional row of seats and can compare that to other car models.
Sorry, my European brain cannot fathom how such a pickup truck bed could be useful in daily life.
But those are usually 5-seaters while this looks like a two seater. And it doesn’t have a trunk, just this weird truck bed that does nothing to protect your stuff against the weather. I like the design philosophy of this truck, but I’d argue that you get much more value out of a compact car.
I ran from Reddit because I’m trying to avoid big US tech monopolies in favor of smaller, less monopolistic goods and services. I’m happy with drinking my local brand of cola, using European email and cloud storage providers and getting my share of news and commentary from Fediverse sources. Works out great for me.
I think power-tripping moderators is exactly what the web needs. I loved the age of bulletin boards. Maybe it’s nostalgia, but I remember the quality of discourse being significantly higher on those moderated platforms. And more importantly, the number of low-quality posts, trolls etc was way lower, because someone would correctly identify bullshit and just delete it.
Honestly, the only time local politicians should dabble in foreign politics is when they look at what works in other countries and why.
Other than that, I don’t care about their stance on foreign affairs. I need them to make sure the public pools, parks and libraries get financed, the bike lane gets built and the trains run on time. I’m not expecting the mayor of my city no negotiate peace deals with Russia ffs.
