How the hell is the figurehead of a glorified military base going to stand up to that military base’s owner?
It’s a win because Iran is not going to continue levelling Israel and Israel isn’t going to lash out and escalate into a broader war that the US can’t handle right now
It does not look hopeful for them at all.
That’s dominant! Never even considered that.
Iran doesn’t really care if you think they look weak. Their people think they are strong, Israel knows they are strong. That’s really all that matters on the image front. As for allowing Israel to re-arm, yes that’s a problem.
It seems to have been “requested” by Israel because they are defenseless, but they wanted to save to face so they had Trump announce it and impose the terms. Iran is now setting the terms of the ceasefire as the victor in the contest.
It seems like Iran wants to determine th details of the ceasefire because they have the upper hand.
Saw a statement that Iran hasn’t received a ceasefire proposal and sees no need for one
The Euro-American chauvinism, ignorance, audacity, racism, orientalism, and cope that comes out of the mouths of ordinary citizens who consider themselves smart and experienced is just too much for me sometimes.
Why bother posting something like this hours before use? Why not just snap the pic, fire it, and then afterwards say “this is what just hit you”?
Yes, but I don’t think Israel expected its air defenses to become functionally useless and for Israel military buildings and airports to be demolished. I think Israel is increasingly desperate and the US needed to step in to do something to stop Israel from doing something big out of that desperation. I think that’s why the US didn’t go in with shock and awe. It was more symbolic than anything.
I actually think it’s trying to get Israel to calm down.
I think it was. My guess is that this bombing run was to limit Israel’s escalation options. Now, the only way for Israel to escalate is to oppose the US narrative and actions, which creates the conditions for the US to split from Israel as a proxy.
I am shocked that this is the US’s way of entering the war. Shock and awe is the normal way. This was not that in the slightest. I think this was a symbolic act and not a functional one.
And that gives me hope that the US has not identified a path to military victory in this situation.
The calculus is either that a bunch of attacks against US assets is the blowback necessary for the US to enter a regional conflict OR that everyone will realize this and only attack Israel and leave the US alone. In the first case, I don’t think the US needs pretense. In the second, it’s indicative of US weakness.
WTF Wunderwaffe?
Or…
Did Iran just test a nuke underground?
This is horrifying
Tucker is an intelligence asset. Whatever he’s saying should be understood through that lens. There’s an agenda behind this “opposition”. One angle could be that the state needs a narrative angle to back down if it turns out that they indeed do not have the strategic advantage required to attack. Another angle might be that these are sheepdogs gathering the right-wing population to them and when the bombs drop the sheepdogs will turn the narrative towards “we have to support dear leader in times of war” because there needs to be some influence over the militia movement and lone wolves that might break rank over this.
I’m sure I haven’t figured out the angle yet, but my gut tells me that Tucker and MTG breaking with Trump and Cruz is orchestrated.
Many, if not most, sunscreens use certain ingredients that breakdown in UV light and produce carcinogens that can be absorbed by the skin. It was a relatively large exposé a few years ago. My doctor has equally told me that the sun isn’t the primary factor in whether you get cancer and people without the genetic predisposition for skin cancer aren’t going to get it from sun exposure.
Not that I don’t wear sunscreen, but I select my sunscreen very very carefully and review the latest consumer research on cancer-causing ingredients.
