That’s price anchoring at play, you think you’re getting a good deal in comparison, so of course you get the gamepass, but no matter which product you buy, microsoft wins.

Opening the phone to other app stores is just the first step. The second is letting the user choose an app store when they first start their phone similarly to how they already enforce browser choice.

It’s the good ol’, if it’s gonna happen anyways might as well get behind it and get some good PR.

People always underestimate the work that goes into making sure stuff works. These packages need to be built so they add a lot of compile time to the pipeline, these packages have limitations inherent to 32 bits so they also add troubleshooting and bugs. This is time and resources that could be spent elsewhere.

run gamescope orstart a steam big picture session.

Most of these games are fully aware it’s a kid playing, they just turn a blind eye because it profits them.
This whole personal responsibility is the same shit that the plastic industry has managed to pull, they are the ones doing it and they are the ones profiting from it, the responsibility is on them to make sure kids aren’t playing their games.

The thing is Geralt is The Witcher, making Ciri the protagonist is a bastardization of the saga. Imagine that J.K rowling came up with a new book, titled it Harry Potter 8, and made the protagonist Hermione. To me this shows a real lack of understanding of their audience, people play The Witcher for the fantasy of being Geralt, of being a monster killer, of hooking up with every sorceress. But obviously IP sells, and they aren’t gonna change the title of the saga to something like “child of the elder blood”.
I wish them the best of luck, maybe they’ll pull off a fallout 3 and reinvent themselves. But I personally will be passing on this spinoff.

Unlike Geralt or the sorceresses, she does get old too.
It’s definitely understandable that a lot of players would feel betrayed at having Ciri becoming the MC after 3 games of Geralt. People would riot if you made someone else than Lara Croft the MC of tomb raider. A better solution would probably be a character creator for a new generation of witchers. Ciri is too powerful to be the MC.

Games are lightning in a bottle, their successes are basically impossible to replicate because there’s so many variables at play.

Either it eventually gets repriced, or they start mining all your information like every other “free” vpns.

The steam deck is just a small pc running Linux, so yes.
Yeah GNOME exposes a bunch of settings for advanced users and extensions, you can look through them with dconf editor. PopOS isn’t the best distribution for GNOME though as it’s stuck on GNOME 42 so you’re missing out on 3 years of updates.
