movim’s really making waves lately and i’m over here really wanting a desktop app

hm, i might use that as the explainer link for xmpp in my contact info page instead of the one i posted because it’s really good

funny that another comment mentions a clone called fluxer when i recently installed a XMPP client called “fluux messenger” that mimics discord
feels very “well one of us is gonna have to change”

thank you for explaining! i’m still relatively new to actually using XMPP so i don’t really understand it all. i had gone into the kaidan chat a few weeks ago and learned that there isn’t legacy OMEMO support and that it’s low priority to implement, which i initially thought was my issue because i couldn’t decrypt a message i had sent myself from conversations on android.
i mean, dino and gajim work but something about the designs of gtk apps bother me. i think it’s the excess padding.

i cannot for the life of me figure out why kaidan doesn’t sync my chatrooms or let me join any new public ones. doesn’t even give me an error, it just doesn’t do it.
