this is how it works. as guard nodes know your ip is better to trust on one of them rather than randomly changing like other nodes. they rotate like in three months iirc

you can configure bios for self power on at certain time and then turn the server off after finishing backup

I’ve just installed and configured it, it’s pretty easy and straightforward. But there are things that should be smoother, for instance I want to run my pipeline on a custom docker image hosted on the same forgejo oci registry and authentication it’s a nightmare

qubes os is for you. Don’t be scared by it as you can start using it without paying attention to many of its security features like disposables, proxy vms, etc. Just think of it as several vms with a shared clipboard, file sharing mechanism and a convenient apps menu. You can learn later it most advanced stuff
