  • On windows 11 or windows 10?

The <win10 context menu is old and poorly designed. Each app that declares itself on the right click menu gets to hold up the entire menu for like 3 seconds each. So if you have one poorly designed app that can appear on that list your right click menu will be super slow. Try to go through the right click menu and disable each app that appears one by one until you find the culprit.

Windows has this official tool, if you go to the explorer tab and find …/contextMenuHandlers section you can easily disable them one by one but i haven’t used it personally.

Win11 tried to fix this and moved to a different model but in doing so made the first level right click menu functionally useless.

  • I live in Canada, I can vote using my free government issued healthcard or I can bring a friend to vouch for me, or i can bring a student id and a bill. While most people probably vote with their drivers license or photo ID this enables people who are homeless, very old, or in my case in 2021, just moved. (Here’s what’s needed for the curious). You’ll notice in that link there are special exemptions for people who live in long term care homes, for whom it is much more common to have no form of id.

People who don’t have easy access to id are societies most vulnerable people and I think it is especially important that they have access to voting.

America does not have a free form of id (in most states anyway) and does not allow someone to vouch as a form of identification.

  • there’s also a big difference between drinking minutes old raw milk directly straight out of the teet, vs commercial operations where the milk is a few hours to days old and is bottled with equipment that isn’t perfectly cleaned between each bottle and then consumers sticking it in a fridge for a week. The former is just something farmers are going to do if they want and isn’t really a serious public health concern imo (although still not without risk) and can’t really be regulated away anyway. the latter exposes way more people and is way more dangerous, and that IS able to be regulated out of existence.
