I’ve always seen Australia as a success story for gun control so am a bit skeptical that it needs changing. There’s a decent argument that the balance was already found 30 years ago, but it’s a complicated topic and tensions are high right now so whatever the right move is, it’s less likely to be found during the period when a more knee-jerk response can override those considerations.

I personally use a PS4 controller with a phone mount. The weight distribution is maybe a bit less comfortable depending on what angle your hold it, but it’s pretty compact and the controller itself is great quality this way.

I doubt they are saying to discard all motives; specifically they said “murder is murder” so using cases that aren’t intentional (ie manslaughter, not murder) undermines your point. It’s more that there’s an upper limit or certain criteria where we stop caring what the person’s motives are, so where do we draw that line? I don’t pretend to know the answer, but it’s a question worth exploring even if you think you know the answer already.
