I’ll be honest, their analysis seems significantly more well informed, especially upon this topic, then anything I could say or add. The only thing I’d feel comfortable adding onto it is that the UAEs choice of economic sovereignty is linked to the comparatively weaker position it holds to other regional powers due to its size, population, and level of economic development.

So essentially, they are dealing with the fact that after a US exit, (or even during the US occupation) the UAE is in a worse position to project power than Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran, and Türkiye. Similiar to the settler colony, their existence is propped up by the imperialists (though to a lesser extent), and both are clawing for enough power and influence for that not to be the case.

The UAE is also an economy that depends a lot in speculation and their perception. Oil, tourism, tech companies, etc, if the image if wgat makes them a good investment wobbles both internally and externally, it has a large effect.

That’s all I can really, say though, hopefully this was helpful.
