Strangely, I see so many of these posts indicating this as some kind of weakness Ukraine should be expected to exploit. However, you can see all the same problems of conscription on the opposite side of the front lines. Ukraine has increasingly turned to South America for expendables, with 40% of new recruits coming from across the Atlantic this year. Incidentally, a lot of these recruits are coming from the drug cartels.
…huh. It almost seems like war is bad.

How do you trick someone into fighting in a foreign war? Bribery and blackmail but deception?
From what ive heard (!) they are often offered “non-combat roles”, so they are being told that they would help in the war effort by doing white collar stuff or logistics far inland, away from the fighting. Once in russia, their passports are taken away and they are being told “tough luck, if you ever wanna leave and see some money, grab a rifle and storm that MG-nest”.
This aligns with what I read in an article several months ago as well.
