nvidia-settings is official
i read now im responsible on maintaining it, what does it mean?
sudo pacman -Syu
- do this about once every couple of days to make sure your packages are up-to-date
i can’t think of anything else i have to do as part of maintaining my system outside of backups
does the Philippines not like having alive soldiers and intact military hardware or something?
train fans in am*rica waiting to be the first to ride a new train
With an air based drone they have to land somewhere which can be hard to do for bigger drones
you can fit the functional parts of a rifle on a small quad copter, one that could land in a space a little larger than a dinner plate
Then they have to take off again when an enemy shows up, reach altitude, etc.
consumer quad copters can reach human head height in 1-2 seconds
a demonstration of how quick these things are: https://youtube.com/shorts/7lXEeqT9LnQ
With these they just detect the enemy, and power up fully again in seconds.
they will also be a human sized metal target that is standing dead still, easier to see than a landed drone from sheer size
a small quad copter with a rifle caliber gun and good targeting software would be more effective and cheaper
Doesn’t the UK have submarines that literally are supposed to fire nukes if they can’t contact home base when they surface (which can be months between surfacing)?
when a new prime minister comes in, they write a letter that contains their orders for if this happens, there were(?) three options:
the letter is then sealed and placed in the sub commanders safe, to be opened only when it happens
as of what i was told a few years ago:
Blender has a video editor?! Geez, used it back in the day for 3D rendering, but didn’t even cross my mind for videos.
it is surprisingly good, when i first found out about it i was kinda blown away with how competitive it is with stuff like Kdenlive and the ancient version of sony vegas i used to use
when a particular distro is recommended, almost every time it just means “this is what we have actually tested it on” so as long as your distro has the correct packages/versions available there is a very good chance it will work even when not recommended
You’ll probably need to run the software in bottles
nope, unreal engine 5 has a native linux version
it’s the Juche calendar
having tried many distros over the years, Arch (and most derivatives) is best for me
pacman is the best i’ve used, packages are very up to date, and it’s pretty easy to troubleshoot with the enormous amount of info on the wiki and elsewhere
aleph one from the AUR refused to run properly, often crashing on startup so i just grabbed the flatpak
the weirdest one was ghostwriter from the official repos, for some reason one day the preview window showed heavily corrupted output and tinkering with it on and off for a week did nothing, including a complete purge and reinstall of the program
the flatpak was the only version of it that worked after that
i have a couple on arch also, mostly because of dependency issues breaking the program and it being a pain in the ass to fix
there’s a gui for flatpaks?
