I haven’t gotten this, but my personal experience with Retroid is that the parts break rather easily. They sell replacement parts for a little but soon stop supporting that practice.

I remember when the very first teaser came out for this and people were going wild. I asked in a streamers chat (first mistake) if there was any actual in-game gameplay footage or it was just a CGI/cutscene and the streamer chewed me out lol. “Let people be excited about things!”

Especially given how easily many seem to have willfully forgotten the horrendous Cyberpunk launch, they could’ve easily pulled a Nintendo with this stuff.

I just recently replayed everything Bioshock (and finished reading the book last night). I streamed them for a friend that had never played any of them, and we agreed in our rankings of best to worst.

Bioshock 1, Minerva’s Den, Burial at Sea, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite.

The story for the first Bioshock just can’t be beat, paired with the wonder of Rapture, wow. Bioshock 2 certainly beats it in terms of gameplay, though. Lot of QoL and mechanical changes that improve playing through 2s (IMO) lackluster story, which could’ve worked better with some changes.

Minerva’s Den hits that sweet spot of a good story with 2s improved gameplay.

Burial at Sea is an interesting bag. It and Infinite certainly mix up a lot of things that we knew about Rapture, but, well… it’s just cool to return there from a slightly different perspective.

We don’t need to talk too much about Infinite.

I’m sorry, have you seen the amount of absolute crap on the Nintendo eShop? What qualification process? It’s a wasteland there.

You know those are probably different groups of people, right?

Microsoft tried that exact thing, to poor results.

The recent Silent Hill 2 remake was pretty good, and a good mix of combat/horror. I’d recommend that to anyone that likes modern RE.

IIRC, it’s mentioned in the manual that some NPCs lie to you. So if that’s true, it’s not so much a mistranslation as it is an NPC wasting your time.

We don’t have to insult them by calling them simple. Some people just really love Nintendo stuff and have the money to buy it. It’s not like they actually make really shitty games that you can’t understand why anyone would like them. Their other practices are what call them into question.

I’m still surprised people can get the second game to launch when they launch it through steam. I tried for hours to try and get it running, but the stupid external launcher wouldn’t cooperate, so I refunded it. First one worked fine.

I think for this move to make sense, you need to understand how much Kenji Inafune set Capcom back with his MegaMan decisions before his departure. I’m sure this was a big aspect of their different approach to game making.

I suppose it may depend on what circles you’re talking about them in, because that series is one of the top recommendations for metroidvanias. They’ve sold over 15 million copies.

Okay I think this is actually the best answer in here. I know of too many people that won’t play pixel games or PS1 era because “the graphics are bad”, which just sends me for a spin because I absolutely adore how they look.

8 is definitely not a good first JRPG to start with, but I think it’s an interesting reversal of the regular mechanics/grind that you expect from the genre.

I actually think FF8 and FF9 have aged wonderfully. Personally, it’s FF7 that hasn’t aged the best.

But you can flip it if you’re more familiar with the Wii version!

Perhaps they’re betting on people that were holding out on a Switch 2 will see this as their only opportunity to grab one, since it ain’t getting cheaper.
