Yeah, true. Too much jury nullification of any sort means you’re systems are failing. Not good for a society.

Ehh kind of. But, you know, nullification is when the laws say they’re guilty but the jury says no. Typically because the laws are unjust. But there’s an opposite where the laws might say they’re innocent, but the jury says guilty because the laws are also unjust.

What’s the opposite of jury nullification?

I didn’t get one because it’s too expensive.
Steam deck was a little pricey but it has a backlog of games going back like 50 years, and I already have a large library. Plus the games are cheaper.

I don’t like listening to podcasts but they provide the full transcript, which was a good read.
Some CS rep said to me the other day when I was asking about a bogus charge on my account, “thank you for being part of our family”
I said “family doesn’t usually charge money, but go on”
I got a partial refund.

Every Republican that leaves office, by whatever means, is good for the world.
I imagine if all you do is watch films, you get tired of common stuff. You’ve seen it before. But if you only watch films sometimes, some of that is still interesting to you.
Kind of like how some video game nerds will be only “only double soj 2x blan Blah is viable” but like other builds do fine for everything except some optional mega bosses
I was at a major concert the other day waiting in line for the bathroom. So many men just strolled out of there without even looking at the sink.
Oh. Well. I don’t think anger is an appropriate response, unless you’re some sort of evil light mode gremlin that switches people’s settings on them.
I did give some of my old coworkers shit whenever they shared screen with full light mode, because it was like a mini flashbang.
It’s uncomfortably bright, especially if the room isn’t already very bright. My apartment is lit by a single lamp and a little sunlight from the windows. Full screen light mode is like a flashlight in my face, and too big a change in brightness every time I look around my apartment and then back to the screen.
Do you have trouble seeing dark mode? That’s hard for me to imagine.

I wouldn’t mind ads on streaming media if they were limited to a few seconds at the start and end, and had some constraints (eg: no volume tricks to sound louder). Just a calm voice saying “This episode brought to you by WidgetCo. The best in Widgets. [logo] [url]” over a neutral color. That’d be fine. But the hunger for profit can never be sated, so it’s longer, more obvious ads more frequently forever. So they can all get fucked. I won’t watch at all.
If you were an organization with ideas to push, would you just ignore reddit? It’s pretty cheap to pay people to manage social media, especially if you don’t care about some slop from LLMs.
If it’s “full of”, I don’t know. I don’t use it anymore.

This seems like an obvious improvement and I kind of want everyone who thought otherwise to be banned from working in decision making roles.

Microsoft 365 is a worse name than Microsoft Office.

Cis male. Often yes, but there’s always room for improvement. I lean on metaphor a little hard sometimes.
I had a relationship where the other person was very Guess Culture (as opposed to Ask) and that didn’t work very well at all.

Been pretty happy with Linux for the past year or two.
A few minor problems here and there. I was struggling to figure out how to adjust the screen brightness (pop!_os defaults). Found a command line tool to adjust gamma - my girlfriend was a little baffled. Then I realized I should just adjust the brightness on the display itself, on the hardware.

I make a list between shopping of stuff I realize I should get (eg: peanut butter). When I go, I sometimes just grab stuff that’s cheap or appealing.
I also live like 5 minutes away on foot from several grocery stores, so it’s not a big deal to go.
They’re not engaging with facts. That’s a whole other plane that doesn’t intersect. It’s just feelings and in-group.
When you point it out early, you’re disparaging the in-group so that must be rejected. When you point it out after… You’re still disparaging the in-group so that must be rejected.
That’s all there is to it.
