El-Sayed needs black women to vote. Kamala is a poor substitute for Obama, but she’ll do folks.

If you only invite your friends to the party, you limit the number of new friends you can make. Sometimes you invite that annoying guy with the hot sister.

I share your sentiment to a degree. However, Kamala remains popular with centrist liberal voters who are still sore she lost the 2024 election. Having her endorse El-Sayed on his campaign trail could entice voters who see him as “extreme.”

At this point, he needs every last vote he can conjure. It’s politics in 2026. Such is the state of a corrupt, two-party, winner-take-all electoral system.

      From NBC:

Roxie Richner, a spokesperson for El-Sayed, told NBC News on Wednesday that “Abdul is thrilled to welcome Vice President Harris to Michigan for a conversation about improving Black maternal health and bringing down healthcare costs.”

Richner added: “He looks forward to hearing directly from Black women and healthcare providers and discussing how he’ll continue that work in the Senate. There’s no better choice for Michiganders than Abdul when it comes to making healthcare more affordable, and he’s grateful Vice President Harris will join him in spreading that message.”

      You’re learning the wrong thing

      https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/sep/30/harris-trump-economic-proposals-poll

Kamala Harris’s economic policies proved far more popular than Donald Trump’s plans in a blind test of their proposals.

      https://www.levyinstitute.org/publications/trump-wins-while-americans-vote-for-progressive-policies/

This was not a loss on policy. This was not a loss on ideas.

This was a propaganda war, people were lead to fear the Democratic party and were convinced Trump was a good businessman.

People said they voted for Trump due to the economy, while every economic policy they liked when presented it without a name attached came from Kamala. They HATED Trump’s ideas when his name wasn’t attached.

Stop teaching yourself the wrong lesson. Get prepared to fight the propaganda, don’t join the infighting.

Listen to her speak, she is actually really good at presenting her policies, the issue is nobody will pay attention to her and she won’t lie to get the attention she feels she needs like Vance has stated he does. Remember during the 2024 election cycle when she literally had to chase down reporters? There are endless examples of her walking up to the press and trying to discuss policy just for them to shut her down without a chance to speak… meanwhile those exact same people were doing anything to be the 9 trillionth person to report on whatever nonsensical blatant lies and hate were spilling out of Trump’s mouth at the time.

And all of that aside…how in the fuck are you going to claim somebody lost to Trump because they were bad at presenting policy? Trump has the poorest speaking abilities of anybody in the entire history of US politics, same with his displayed understanding of policies, laws, governmental structure, constitutional framework, etc. He is literally the absolute worst we’ve ever had at all of the things you say are the reasons the other side lost.

What cult am I in? I’ve spent my entire life advocating for human and worker rights against both parties and every organization in the US government. I’ve been personally blocked by countless US reps and law enforcement organizations across the country.

You were literally arguing antithetical statements and jumped to baseless name calling when you were called on it. You can’t claim somebody lost to Trump over their ability to discuss policy when Trump himself is the de facto worst policy speaker in the entire history of the country, dude even routinely shits on his own policies and verbatim states that whoever signed them in is the worst president ever…while taking credit for the things democrats passed after he shit talked it while it was up for debate.

Are you sure you aren’t in a cult? Right wing authoritarianism is just as popular in Europe as it is in the US, how are you making sure you aren’t being misled into believing contradictory things…like the statements you made here.

Trump’s policies were all unpopular and people hated his ideas.

He won because media told people the Democrat’s good ideas were his and that only be could be trusted to implement them, and too many believed it. He copied promises from Kamala outright and media only reported on his statements and not hers.

People LIKED the Democrat campaign plan. They were simply convinced to not trust it by propaganda.

Sure, but justified or not, the personality behind the policies is very important to most ppl. She was the least popular candidate in the primaries. She ran a presumptuous half-assed victory lap campaign. She ran to the center and proposed nothing new or inspiring. She avoided difficult topics and fumbled when confronted with them. So, her policies were mostly fine (except of course that big one), but people maybe don’t want a non-leader type former cop to spearhead those policies.

Why are so many people upset she’s campaigning with him? A former vice president and presidential candidate campaigning with him might get the centrists to vote for him.

Edit: It appears some people just want an excuse not to vote.

She lost Michigan left, not the moderates. In this case this isn’t going to hurt him on the left unless he changes his message. But she can show the moderates that he isn’t radioactive. It’s also worth remembering that she never got to run her own campaign, the corporate wing of the democratic party basically used her as a face.

I wouldn’t be so sure. Self-proclaimed moderates in America tend to want stuff like universal healthcare, better public transport and taxes on the rich, and the median American voter hates Israel now. My impression is that actual moderates (the people that would be legitimately represented by Hakeem Jeffries or Kamala Harris) are very fortunately no longer a significant voter bloc, if they ever were. I won’t deny the potential benefits of name recognition, but on the other hand we can’t forget about all the Michigan Arabs who rightly hate Harris’s guts.

Didn’t she support the two state solution?

The two state solution is what we currently have. The only path forward with apartheid like we have in Israel is to follow the model of South Africa and democratically form a single state that represents all.

I do not support two staters. They are just supporting Israel’s illegal existence and will never support the Palestinians they disdain with all their heart.

About the same as it was doing when Biden was president. You do understand both sides of our last election were on the same side of this issue right? And how our government lied about it for almost a year before Trump took over?

Why are you so excited about Palestinians being genocides? Y’all libs always talk about this with such glee.

A one state solution is the only path forward where Israel is dismantled a new state it formed that democratically represents all people. Anything short of that will just reproduce the conditions we have today (that you seem to like)

So I can only assume you love how the acceleration of the genocide in Palestine on top of now having our own gestapo pulling innocent people off the streets to ship them God knows where while killing protesters on top of a war in Iran. Congratulations.
