It’s more so most of the people who were heavily pro-palestine (like Professor Dave just as an example) stayed home rather than voting against Trump. Which to me is dumb because Trump was literally pro-genocide on Gaza while Harris was just anti-Hamas. Not saying it singlehandedly made the Democrats lose, but it certainly played a factor.

It also just offends me personally because it tells me that they never actually cared about trans people or health care or the working class or anything really if they’re willing to sit out and allow Trump to win just to have moral infallibility and thus I guess feel superior. The genocide wasn’t stopped by not voting, but I doubt even that matters to them.

Now I’ll admit, I might just be a little perception poisoned on the far left’s position broadly because I used to argue with tankies on here constantly and they kept dogpiling me for saying we should’ve voted for Harris. Sorry for getting a little emotional with this towards the end, but it’s just so frustrating

I think for a lot of them it has little to do with Palestine or any of the other issues but rather to belong to a group cosplaying barricade revolutionaries while doing absolutely nothing meaningful.

A lot of these political grassroot movements have been co-opted by childish narcissists who do way more to hurt the cause than they ever do to further it.

They’re literally there for the performative bullshit, the purity testing, the virtue signalling, the gatekeeping, the outrage and the accusations. They’re not there for the politics, they are there for the drama and feeling of self importance. They pretend to have radical principles so that they can point at anyone and say- “as long as you are not as extreme in your views as I am in mine, you are in favor of the things I am against”.
